day 120 - Sleep

At some point after going to sleep my daughter ended up on the floor. We did move her back into her bed after taking the picture ;)

day 116 - Wildflowers

My son had a class today at a local nature preserve. During the program we all went on a hike to look for frogs and tadpoles, unfortunetly we did not see any. We did however see some lovely wildflowers in bloom. Marsh marigold, skunk cabbage (now leafing out, it's already done blooming) and trillium.

day 113 - Square foot

This year I'm going to be giving square foot gardening a try. I have my 1x1 foot grids all marked out. I have to rearrange my strawberry plants to fit inside the new frame work. So far I have planted some carrot seeds & 3 different varieties of radishes. Hopefully soon I will get some lettuce, spinach, swiss chard and peas planted. This is the earliest I have started getting seeds in the ground :)

Joy - the beauty of the spring flowers, bumblebees buzzing about, kids examining God's creation ....

day 105 - Joy

Joy of- playing outside in the dirt, writing with chalk on the patio, getting the vegetable garden ready for planting...

day 101 - Spring

I love this time in the spring when the trees are blooming and starting to leaf out. The greater variety in color than you have in summer. I also love the return of our migratory birds. Our pair of mourning doves were hanging out in the front yard again.

day 100 - Flowers

My oldest son has been picking some of the blooming flowers. He even dug out the vase for the daffodils himself.

day 98 - pipe person

My son fashioned this person out of two pipe cleaners all on his own. I thought it was pretty clever :)

day 95 - Beaver

My son had a class at a local nature preserve where they learned about beavers. They had a mask and a tail to put on to pretend to be beavers themselves.

day 93 - Tomboy

My daughter the perfect mix between girly girl and tomboy showing off her scabbed up knees, which looked much worse when they were freshly scraped.

day 92 - Brush fire

On April 1st we had a brush fire that burned not to far from our subdivision so we walked over the next day to check it out. This is the area where they stopped the burn, which I've heard burned 4 or more acres.
